Power Rankings
st - Tampa Bay Rays - The hottest team over the last 10 days and leading the league in winning % will put you atop my power rankings this week. National media will not do it, but I will. Pitching, defense and offense are coming together the past few weeks and bottom of the order guys are stepping up, see Taylor Walls, Jonny Deluca, and Nick Fortes.
nd - Milwaukee Brewers - The Brew Crew jumped on the Dodgers in late innings Thursday night to hop up to 2nd on my power ranking. Scoring 3 in the 9th to fend off the reigning World Series Champs. The Brewers are ranked 4th in ERA and have given up the least amount of hits to batters second to only the Dodgers. Brewers are showing to be able to do it on both sides of the field by also being 5th in Runs scored this season. Dodgers may have a handful to deal with come October.
rd - Los Angeles Dodgers - A few shaky outings out of Edwin Diaz has Dodgers fans rattled, and rightfully so. Halvorsen was traded for earlier in the year and was recently called up by the team to support the back end of the bullpen. Mookie Betts is also having a down year batting .239 and an OBP under .300. Betts has shown signs of heating up reference by slashing .318/.400/.682 the last 7.
th - Chicago Cubs - With major pitching additions being made by the front office in Kevin Gausman, Clay Holmes, and Braxton Garret the team has opted into going all in. With pitching staff on live support due to injuries, the Cubbies have proven resiliency. Gausman has a proven track record as veteran and most recently with a World Series appearance this past year. His prescence I argue will be huge for the team down the stretch
th - New York Yankees - This team simply will not go away, with injuries to Judge and Bellinger seemingly crippling their lineup, they have found ways to win. With arguably top 3 pitching staffs in the league, they most recently knocked off the Braves in my top 5 Power Ranking list with their recent series in New York. They made moves during the deadline to add some complementary bats to tie them over until reinforcements arrive, but will it be enough?
